Is there a way to play 2 apps that run audio/video concurrently (even though I'm only enabling the audio in one)?

For example, not uncommonly, on OSX, I'll have video running of only passing interest, so I'll mute it, then play audio from another source. With PiP now in iOS9, it would be great to have something like a live game running in PiP, but muting it to play my own audio.

Is there a workaround, with an app perhaps, to allow for this?

Thank you for any help.

I'm sure it's possible, but the API not available to make it happen.

I tested using the Twitch app to watch and stream, muted and entered into PiP mode. Opened Music and started some music. It paused the Twitch stream and Music was sharing the same volume setting as what was set in Twitch. You can only play one at a time.

So for the time being, not possible. Can be something opened up eventually though.

Ah, okay, so without the API access, I guess no apps can work around it.

Actually, that's exactly one of my use cases, the Twitch app.

Thanks.

I've had a YouTube running in PIP while playing Clash of Clans on mute (clash has its own in app sound controls). That's about as far as I could get given the limitations.
