Playing DVDs from my laptop to my highdef TV

Hi,

I would like to play DVDs on my new highdef TV from my laptop. The only connector that I have is the S-Video cable, which I don't want to use. Is there any way to somehow output the display using component cables?

You didn't say which laptop, but assuming that it has some way to give a VGA output you could use one of these cables from Steren: http://www.sterenusa.com/catalog/products.asp?fam=3&sfam=165 to connect from the VGA to the component inputs of your HDTV.

Agreed. If at all possible stay digital and use a DVI or HDMI (using mini-DV to DVi and DVI to HDMI adapter cables) input on your HDTV.

Otherwise use the mini-DVI to VGA adapter and the cables I linked to in the previous post.

You may need SwitchResX to match the resolution of your HDTV.
