What happened?

It seems that with the very latest iTunes update the manual music management for the iphone has been disabled again?

And again i can't play music stored on the iphone through itunes when connected to it.

WTF?!!

What is apple thinking? First they have it disabled, then they enable it and now with the latest itunes update it's disabled again.

Are you referring to iTunes 7.6.2, or iTunes 7.7 beta?

I also have this problem. I take my iPhone to work and connect it to the computer to play the music on my iPhone through my computer speakers. Any solution for this?

I still get this prompt:

Wow...first of all, I didn't even know this was possible until this thread, so that's kinda cool.

Do you have syncing turned off on the second computer? So it won't try to sync to it? Maybe that's the problem?

iTunes is set to manually manage music and videos on my home computer which is where I sync my iPhone. I've done what I want to do with every other iPod I have ever owned and if the iPhone doesn't do this I am not going to be very happy.

any updates to this? i was going to start a thread like this but wanted to check and see if anyone figured it out? I to would like to play music on my iphone on my work computer, just like I always do with my ipod, through manual sync... but it doesn't work.

Playing music from iphone (through iTunes)?

Several years ago I bought an iPod, found out that iTunes was crap and moved to thirdparty music managemet software.

Now I received an iPhone at my job, and see that iTunes is still crap. Problem is that it seems hard to find thirdparty support for newest firmware.

Does anybody know if this feature is intentionally removed, or just a bummer from Apple?
