Hi,

I have my :apple: TV set to sync photos and nothing else. Music, TV shows, Podcasts and movies are streamed. This works well for me.

However, because the photos appear in the :apple: TV source and my music is in my library source, I can't play music during slideshows.

Is this how it's supposed to work, or has Apple dropped the ball...?

I think that's probably how it's supposed to work. I'd guess that mixing between two sources is not something people would want to do a lot of the time.

Do you have a big music library? Just wondering why you don't sync the music as well as the photos? I've got mine set to sync photos and music and stream everything else which works for me.

For a slideshow, it only plays music that is on the :apple:TV. Just synchronize some music that you would like to hear with slideshows.

I created a 5GB Playlist with music that I like to hear behind slideshows, and synchronize that to my :apple:TV.

actually i am a lurker, with regards to :apple: tv.

would it not be possible to create a slideshow (with music) and then play the slideshow as a movie with :apple: tv.

would this be possible?

If you exported the slideshow from iPhoto to turn it into a movie and then imported that into iTunes then I'd guess that would work, but that's quite a workaround.

Yeah, my music library is much too big to sync in its entirety. However, the suggestion of creating a slideshow music playlist and just syncing that seems to be the best way to go.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Steve.
