I just bought my first mac. I tried to open a .wmv file that is a short movie clip I used to play in windows media player when I had a PC. How do I play files that are .wmv on a mac???

Thanks

You want to download and install Flip4Mac. Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, have decided to stop developing Windows Media Player for Mac and instead it has been replaced by this plugin. Works for most .wmv files.

Flip4Mac

I'd say go with Flip4Mac.

It integrates (for the most part) nicely with Quicktime, and installs a browser plugin that will allow you play .wmv files inside Safari or your browser of choice.

Keep an eye on the updates, though...the software is still somewhat buggy.

thanks guys

Flip4Mac seems to work gret so far. For some reason it won't allow me to uncheck the use flip4mac internet plug-in when i go to the prefences pane. It is grayed and i'm not sure why.

Thanks for your help

Does Flip4Mac work with Intel machines? Last time I tried it, about a week ago, it said that it does not support Intel machines...
