Hi guys, im new here and hope i've posted in the right place, please advise if i haven't!
I've been using mac's for a good while and played a few games on them but am explorng more now. I've seen quite a few things about getting playstation controllers hooked up o computers. I have found a few adapters that can do this, some with one port, others with two. They all make reference to PC's and I have had some posetive feedback about them being able to be used with mac's. does anyone have any experience with this, especially if drivers are required and if so, where can I get them? any help at all would be appreciated.

Kind Regards
AL

ive not heard of any thing about connecting plastation controllers to Macs. Just out of curiosity, what games are you playing that you want a controller for? and wouldnt it be easier just to get a standard off the shelf USB controller? Or how about Boot Camp for gaming?

check this out, i know its old but still. it doesn't mention drivers though.

I play colin mcrae rally, a few other driving games, i'm not at home and cant remember the names off the top of my head. sorry.

ye it probably would be easier but game pads only work with some games and its about €40 for a logitech game pad and €10 for an adapter... I already have the playstation controller. Do you have any other suggestions for cheaper usb controllers? I can use boot camp but would much prefer os x, for obvious reasons!

Thanks for your quick reply!

sorry ive not really got a lot of experience in this, so I dont know what to recommend. People on that thread you linked seemed to seem ok running them without drivers though. For $10 just get one and see if it works... worry about drivers later.

Ye I suppose your right, I may aswell just get it! Thanks a million, il post back in a while with my findings.
Anyone else have any suggestions?

I have a thrustmaster controller that is very playstation like...plus it is made to fit PC, MAC and Playstation (spilt head connector). that might be worth a shot, unless your only interested in a conversion.

just had a look at them, they look good. Which controller do you have? I was looking at some of the older ones (2 in 1 rumble force) and am concerned they may not be as compatible as easily as the newer models

yeah, I have that older 2 in 1 rumble force but I've been using that on windows. I've seen a few drivers floating around on a google search that will force thrustmaster controllers to work w/ osx tho.
