Please confirm: Does the A-GPS work without a SIM card ?

Hi,

To anyone that now has a 3G iPad, can you confirm that with the SIM removed (so no actual 3G capability) the GPS still functions as a GPS ? Even with WiFi disabled ?

It should, assuming a GPS chipset, but I've not read any actual factual test results.
