Hello all. I'd really appreciate some feedback on this logo I've been working on... a little background info:

It's for a company that makes insulation out of recycled blue jeans, totally non-toxic, organic, high-quality rolls of insulation.

They feel that the concept of insulation is of higher importance than name of the company.

They would like to emphasize the fact that it's organic, almost 100% cotton (plus a small amount of all-natural binding material).

I look forward to your responses. Thanks a ton.

Nice first draft. I like the logo.
My first inclination would be to study the Levi's leather tag for design ideas that generically suggest blue jeans.
This is an old and traditional motif, and very widely recognized.

the logo suits the company. It looks like the outling and brown box is insulating the words. Very nice

Yeah, I really think it's pretty good, the blue outline was an excellent idea. I'd probably thicken up the outline slightly, and I'm not crazy about the INSULATION font. But good job.

Thanks for the replies, very helpful -- and I now know I'm on the right track at least!

Fantastic idea about studying the Levi's label -- a recognizable archetype that clearly says "blue jeans".

I am not crazy about the font used for INSULATION either -- and perhaps that will be my next move. I'll keep you posted...

I like it. The only thing that occurred to me is that it might look a tad better if the vertical strokes of the outline were straight lines rather than following the contours of the bottoms of the "i" and the trailing "e".

Just a thought that you might try.

I like it. Since you want to emphasize that it's organic, what if the word "Insulation" instead of being surrounded by black, were surrounded by some shade of green, or having the outline of the logo in green ("Green" seems to be on everyone's minds these days). I'm not talking about some bright, tacky, Kerry green, but something relatively muted. It might look crap, and/or, clash with the blue in the logo, but it might be worth a try.

I think this is a great design - good work. I would shy away from adding anymore colour, logos should be able to work in black & white for invoices, letterheads, embroidery etc. I think the two colours you have now compliment eachother and work well.

I also like the Levis idea. What if you were to change the outline to a fine stiched look> ------ if not, I think what you have works.

logo feedback

Overall a good start... though I'd definitely get rid of the vertical borderline in the "u" and clean-up the border arround the "e" at end of "blue" to more of a circle shape. The extra outline details are very distracting to the words inside.

Cheers.

In my opinion, "border outline" is an overused graphical devise. It is detracting from a valid use, which in this case is to represent insulation concept. Something to think about.
