Please explain "gmail" on iCloud Calendar

When I go to add an event on my Calendar, there is a number of options. I'm confused about these two though:

Under iCloud I can choose: Gmail, Home, or Work

But there's another section that says "Gmail: *****@gmail.com"

I'm confused what iCloud Gmail is versus my actual Gmail account. Did something just get accidentally labeled as "Gmail" as a title?

I'm not sure. I have three choices under "iCloud": Home, Work, and Gmail. I also have a choice outside of iCloud which is Gmail: ****@gmail.com.

I think I figured it out: I think at some point I named one of my categories under iCloud as "Gmail", which means it's just called that but has nothing to do with Gmail at all. Really made me confused, since I'm trying to switch all of my calendar information, contacts, etc, all under iCloud to stick with one central service for those things. Still not sure if I should stick with iCloud, or go with Google for my cloud services, but I'm going with iCloud for now.
