soo i have an Iphone 3GS with a 16.15.00 baseband . im having issues trying to jailbreak it . i originally upgraded my phone through itunes , but couldn 't find a way to get through the activation process . so then i used sn0wbreeze to make a custom IPSW for me , then put itunes in DFU mode , tried to restore it using SHIFT + restore and selecting the custom built IPSW and got a " the iphone could not be restored (1600) " error ! PLEASE HELP ! i 've been trying to find a way to jailbreak for days now and im completely phone-less . ):

If you are relying on an unlock to use your phone why on earth would you jump the gun on upgrading the firmware?

If you are unlocked I thought it was assumed you say bye bye to new updates until MUCH later when they are confirmed working for jail broken users.

That's the price you pay for being unlocked. It sucks, but it's how it is. I know, I used my 3GS with T-Mobile and when I got sick of the drawbacks I went legit.

Maybe it's time to upgrade to 4S on a properly supported carrier?
