Hi everyone!

First post! Love the site and everyone on it.

I'm a fairly technical guy but I cannot work out why my contacts won't sync across my devices.

I use an iPhone 12 Pro Max, I have an iMac, 2 iPads, 2 MacBooks, but the contacts do not sync between devices in terms of the names that are saved.

If I save a contact on my phone as 'Simon', and get a message that pops up on all devices in iMessage, only the number is displayed and not the saved contact info.

Could anyone please help me fix this?

Thanks in advance!

On your iPhone, when you go into settings and then into contacts, within the accounts section do the accounts and their constituents (mail, calendar, contacts etc) match what you have set up on the other devices ?

I (and several others here) have run into that problem on the Mac at times. The message only shows as the phone number when it first displays. And when I got the actual message, the correct name shows. I haven't had that problem on my phone or iPad. The Mac syncing problem is likely due to a Big Sur bug. I believe Apple has been made aware of the problem but, if it applies to you, it would be a good idea to file a bug report just the same.
