Please help...how to connect my ipad pro 11 inch to mid 2012 macbook pro

Hi guys
I know this seems like a stupid question. How do I connect my newly purchased ipad pro 11 inch to my mid 2012 macbook pro for syncing my data from older ipad? Can’t seem to find the necessary usb C port. Please advise...Thanks

The 2012 Macbook pro does not have USB C ports.

You'll need a lightning to USB cable, like this one.

Also does the macbook pro mid 2012 without retina display have usb 2 or usb 3 ports. Says usb 3 on apple website but the ports are not blue like normal usb 3 ports.

I just bought that one to connect my iPad Pro 11 to my 2015 MacBook Pro -- it works great.

Because I'm a nitwit. I forgot the new iPad Pro has a USB-C connector. My bad, sorry.
