I have got "No bootable device" for x25-m firmware update on my IMac (2010). I swapped the superdrive to x25-m(SSD) and it has been used as Mac OS. The original superdrive has been used as an external super driver with a usb external enclosure.

I found new firmware for x-25m was released last month and I tried to update the firmware but failed.

Because one optical drive is required, the superdrive in an external enclosure was used to update the firmware. On my IMac, when I selected the CD having the firmware after holding down the alt-key, one error message appeared: "No bootable device, Insert boot disk and press any key".

However, I successfully updated the firmware of another x25-m on my Macbook pro 13 (2010) using the usb external superdrive.

I will appreciate for any help or suggestion.

Thank you,

Any one know the difference of recognizing an external optical drive between Macbook pro and IMac?
