iPhone PLEASE HELP -- jailbreak made stock applications disappear

After opening Cydia for the first time right after jail breaking and the phone automatically rebooting, my phone has been reduced to a bit more than a flashlight :eek:

Here's my problem: I tried restoring from back up and it says I need to turn off "find my iPhone" -- except I can't access that option because the settings app has disappeared along with the rest of the stock applications.

I've tried gaining access to stock apps by searching for them in the spotlight, but when I select anything that would take me to a stock app such as messages, music or settings it gives me an error that reads "unsupported URL"
 
I went into iCloud.com and erased my phone from there, plugged it in and went to iTunes to do a restore from backup and now it has the infinitely spinning wheel while iTunes says "connect this iPhone using a USB cable in order to update or restore its software" -- I did a hard reset of the phone, plugged it into iTunes and again it's doing the whole spinning wheel thing again. Strangely though, the erase all contents and settings from iCloud didn't work...it says erased on the website, but it's still exactly the same from my end again when I plug it in to restore, it does the black screen with spinning wheel again.

Edit: I figured out how to put it into DFU mode and I'm restoring it from iTunes right now.

Everything's back to normal now...I guess I should've turned off find my iPhone before doing the jailbreak in order to save hours of hassle from restoring -- had no idea that was something that needed to be done in order to restore.

Feel free to close/delete this thread I guess.

I have an iPhone 4...I had updated over the air to 7.0.4 whenever it came out.

Now my iMessages won't work with my phone number after the whole ordeal -- I even did a network settings reset to try to fix it, but all it did was erase all my network passwords and iMessages still won't work.

I tried to restore from my backup to get all my previous network settings back but now it says that it can't restore from backup because there's not enough space on the phone to restore from it...my phone is 32GB and the backup size is 14GB -- IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE!!!

the evasi0n website said that jailbreaking on an OTA device will not work

I wish they'd write that alongside where it says back up your device before performing a jailbreak because that part I did do -- also a mention that needing to turn off "find my iPhone" in the event that you do need to restore from back up would be nice too because I had no clue about either one of those things.
 
Just found this tidbit on Apple's discussion forums after scouring the net for a while -- makes sense since I performed a remote wipe from the iCloud website in order to be able to restore my phone when it was going haywire.

If "Waiting for Activation" still appears after you perform these steps, turn FaceTime and iMessage off and on in Settings > Messages and Settings > FaceTime. You may need to wait up to 24 hours to complete activation. Most attempts will take less than an hour, but some attempts may take up to 24 hours. If your issue isn't resolved after 24 hours, please contact Apple for assistance. If you've recently performed a remote wipe on your iPhone, wait 24 hours from the time you performed the remote wipe, and then turn iMessage off then back on.

Well, they did warn about OTA in red just a few below that.

I thought there was a prompt or it was in a read me txt about disabling 'find my phone' bit. I'm probably wrong.

Oops...just went to the website and saw what you're talking about. I didn't know you can scroll down past where it says "Compatible with all iPhone, iPod touch, iPad and iPad mini models running iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4" because on my screen that's where the page looks like it stops and without scroll bars on the browser, well...you know -- doh.

Lol really??? It's not like they wrote a big manual for you to read.

Restore to 7.0.4 and do it properly :)
Also turn off any lockscreen passwords/touchid if applicable. In case you didn't read that too :p

Both my rMini and 5s JB just fine and were OTA... thats not a blanket statement.

EDIT: Also left on the lock screen password on both, every time I have jailbroken.

I believe you but the people that have success jail breaking an OTA device is in the minority
