Hello,

This is the first time that I will be getting a MacBook Pro, and I am unsure if the base model is enough or if I should upgrade to a pricier configuration.

As a project manager, I primarily use a PDF editor and Excel. I might use SAP or Microsoft Project in the future.

My wife and I are into photography and plan to use Lightroom to edit our RAW files, but not for heavy editing or video.

Other than that, I’ll just use the computer for general browsing, watching movies, playing music, etc.

Please let me know your thoughts. Is the base MacBook Pro M4 enough for me or should I upgrade to a higher end model?

Thank you!

If your photography doesn't exceed entry or medium level, the base MBP should suffice.
Maybe it would be a good ideea to upgrade the storage to 1tb.
Fully support both of these points.

1TB is for storing your RAW photos as they take lots of space. However, you should check your current usage and decide based on that.

The base 16GB of RAM should be enough as well.
