Ok so I got an iphone unlocked from a friend... 1.0.2 firmware

had it a few months now, all fine except I wanted the itunes store app on. So spoke to person who unlocked it for me, they said dont risk getting 111 to download "ifuntastic" and that I could get apps from there.

So I downloaded it, straight away my phone go's into recovery mode.

It wont let me do anything.. I tried clickin the stop operation etc, repair comms, everything I cant get it out of the damned recovery mode.

Next I was told to download independance, so I did.

Then I realised it wouldnt work wit itunes 7.5...

To cut a long story short I now have itunes 7.4.2 installed etc, but cannot get it any further please help Im desperate I feel like crying....

hey i tried the link but where do I go from there? I know im a kinda noob, just want my phone back on to make calls im not bothered bout the damn apps now!!1 thanx for posting btw x

keep trying you will get errors but if that doesnt work use independence since your on itunes 7.4.2 right? if not that then restore with ituntes you will get an error but its ok then try apptapp again or independence go to the link were it says to reverse the ibricks

well your friend is kinda right and kinda wrong you have to click the option or ctrl key i forgot while clicking restore and you have to download the 1.02 firmware and dont unzip it. click that tell itunes to use this firmware and it should restore but you will get a error. Just follow the link i gave you it tells you everything

also independance when I open it says had to quit?

iNdependence have just released a new beta version which will get it working with any version of iTunes. There may still be something related to iTunes 7.5 on your system making it quit as soon as you open it.

Go here to download beta2:

...and read the news item dated "Nov. 8/07". Check the linked readme file on how to install. Hopefully then you can get iNdependence running again which will kick the iPhone out of recovery mode as soon as it starts up.

Good luck!
