Hello,

After weeks of searching but without avail, I registered here, hoping to find a good answer.

So, maybe you are able to help me.

I am searching for a software which can help me do some backups from a FTP server. So basically it needs to connect automatically (after a schedule) to the host and start downloading files to a defined location on my local machine/or other custom address.

If the files are newer should be overwritten.

Hopefully this description is clear enough. Thank you in advance for your help.

rsync is your friend. It's a Unix program, which means that it is flexible and powerful, which also means that it has a slew of options. Read the man page. From the Terminal, enter: man rsync
