Turn off background app refresh on apps that are meaningless. Turn off iCloud backup, turn off auto updates, run your brightness around 1/3rd the way up, all the time.

Only run backup every now and then, if you do not have much storage space. And update apps and iOS every few weeks or every month instead.

If you have a lot of apps like most people, you’ll see something updating daily, or multiple apps updating daily. Then iCloud will constantly be backing up. And just wasting battery.

It seems like a little adds up to a lot! I try my best to stay on top of how my iOS is running.
