I wanted to order my iPad before the 7th to make the Unlimited 3G plan deadline.

Ordered it @ Apple's website today and it accepted my payment and went to the "Thank You" screen after the order is placed.

30 min later i got an email saying "We couldn't process your order. Please contact your financial institution."

Well needless to say my bank can't offer live customer service again until Monday morning - when it will be TOO LATE to be grandfathered into the Unlimited 3G plan! I called Master Card and told them about my problem.

This is NOT an issue of available funds. I have MORE than enough to cover the iPad cost. I know this is one of those STUPID "security" protocols, because I'm trying to charge $900 to my debit card, and so it won't process unless I contact my bank.

The Master Card rep told me there's nothing she can do, so I'm freaking OUT right now. I cannot wait until Monday to yell at my bank. :(

PLEASE guys what other options do I have? Obviously my local Apple stores are all sold out, so online was the only way!?!?

PLEASE HELP, I need alternatives! I have 24 hours to place my order! :(

GOD guys I'm freaking out I REALLLLY wanted my Unlimited Plan!!! :(

Can I walk into an Apple STore and purchase $900 worth of gift cards and use that online for my iPad!?

OH MAN what if the same thing happens when I try to buy the Gift Cards? What denominations do they come in!?

I would suggest perhaps taking some time to come down off the speed or whatever other weird drug it is you have in your system take a few deep breaths and then look again at what it is you are getting hysterical about...

This is not an emergency.

I have 24 HOURS TO FIND A WAY AROUND THIS. It's an emergency TO ME, OK pal?

I'm not a mean guy or a jerk, but if you're going to approach me like that, waht do you expect?

Nothing about this constitutes an "emergency".

YES IT IS. I have a limitied time frame to order this. So = emergency to me. I never said anybody was in danger.

EDIT: Changed the title, erased "emergency", not to please you guys, but because I could do without the further "This is not an emergency" replies that are pointless. GO AWAY if you're not going to help.

Borrow a friend's credit card and pay him/her back with cash from the bank on Monday?

I just thought of something - if I do use Gift Cards to buy my iPad, what if I want to return it??? I would only be able to get the credit back via Gift Cards, huh? I wouldn't get my money back, is this correct??? That would suck. :(

I thank you for at least offering a helpful reply... But this isn't an option. All my friends are broke/struggling right now.

Did you try calling the Apple Store's 800 number? 1-800-MYAPPLE?

Did you try contacting your local Apple store and asking if they could accept an order even if they were out of stock?

Just ordered a Mini for my family with my discount and the CC info has to match. Address has to be correct on the billing to reflect the cc info billing addy. Then u can ship anywhere.

What can Apple Support do? They don't have anything to do w/ my financial institution.

Can somebody answer for me, if I do purchase $900 in gift cards for my iPad, what would happen if I needed to return it? Could I get my credit back or would it be Gift Card only?

I bet you are having the same problem I ran into. It came up with thank you, and then I got that same email. You have to have the correct billing information that matches the one on the credit card statement. If it is incorrect, it will be declined from the bank and you will get an email like that. Bet ya thats it. Even a one character difference can kaput your order.

My grandpa was like, "Theres 3 grand on my card!!" I'm like.., "Oh.. the billing address... LOL"

Some part of your info is incorrect most likely.

Well, unless you are one of the upper 5% percent of users who are data hogs, you'll probably be better off with the cheaper plans anyway.

Now that a nice grandpa. :D

I don't understand what you're saying/suggesting. I was going to buy $900 worth of gift cards with my same debit card, maybe if I buy a couple $500 cards, it won't decline payment.

I just need my question answered, about returning a product purchased with Gift Cards. I do not want to be stuck with $900 in Apple Cards if it turns out I'm unhappy with the iPad (NOT saying I expect to be, but just in case)

My billing and shipping address are the SAME. I appreciate your help but... yeah, no problem there.

Honestly, just pick up the phone and call them. It isn't that difficult. Stop freaking out.
Ask them what your options are, try placing an order on the phone with them (just see what happens), and ask them any questions you have (such as the returning of a gift card purchase).

Edit: Oh, and thanks for this thread. I actually LOLed. Not at just you freaking out about a silly situation, but at the comments. Hah!

Sounds like a question to ask Apple. Did you notice a previous posters suggestion to see if you can purchase it at the store even though they are not in stock? Perhaps they would let you that and pick it up when it comes in.

If you have a valid card, if it is valid and you have room on it to buy this or do whatever your going to do.. and it says thank you, but then you get a declined notice to contact your institution then your institution declined it.

Either some part of your info is incorrect and not matching, hence the decline.
Or the institution is screwing up and you need to call them to clear it up.

Its either your fault or your banks. Not Apple's. So examine your channels carefully.

ahhaah yah. He should just pick up the oldschool communication device.. the telephone!

Purchase it at a store, even though they have none in stock?

What's your logic/reasoning? How can they charge me for something they don't have??

I don't want to ask them that, I'm afraid they'll laugh at me or make me look like an idiot.

I'm nOT saying that's a stupid suggestion... I just don't understand how they'd be able to do that.

LOL they will laugh at you and make you look like an idiot? Not sure what made you think people in this thread aren't doing exactly that.
No offense, but just saying.

Take the advice of these people or don't come whining in this thread if you aren't going to listen. Just be glad people are helping you out because it isn't something you can't figure out on your own.

If it won't take your debit card, and you don't have a conventional credit card, then your only real solution is to have someone else order it for you and pay them back.

You seem to be a bit of a "Drama Queen". Why not call the apple store or go online a chat with one of the reps. "Quit all the drama"
