Urgh. Jailbreak programs should come with a warning not to jailbreak if you have a phone with a non-working power button.

Did you try connecting to a computer with iTunes?

It was a statement.

Yes I did, but every time I connect to any port it starts up then goes black again.

You don't have to be booted up and at the home screen for dfu to work.
