Some scumbag relieved me of my 2 1/2 year old 6s Plus today. I need a new phone asap.
I loved my Plus but this time I won’t get a plus again. I’m thinking a 7 or an 8. I am big into music so this time I will get at least 128 g storage. I was always bumping up against the 64 g capacity on my Plus. Could some owners of 7s and 8s weigh in on why I might consider one over the other? I haven't been paying any attention since my 6s+ was great. I use bt earbuds so lack of an hp jack is really no issue with me. Thanks. S

Battery life on a regular model will not be shorter than the plus model. Regular size also doesn’t have dual camera setup unlike the plus model.

I honestly don’t know what your first sentence means here, ‘relived’?

The main differences between the iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 is you have wireless charging, a glass back, updated internals and true tone display. Both phones are highly similar with each other, just really depends what you appreciate out of both models. I do think the iPhone 8 might be the better choice, just because it will be supported longer.

I would go with the 8, since new ones will be out in a month, you would probably get a deal on it. Did you have find my iPhone turned on? You should be able to locate if for the police if you do.

OP means he was relieved of his phone, i.e. it was stolen.

Spelling error from OP initially had me confused. Respectfully, In terms of expressing something that was ‘stolen’ , that’s usually not how others might interpret ‘relieved’, which is why I asked. But expressing through text can be confusing at times.

True, not everyone might interpret OP's meaning, but it is the second definition of the phrase "relieve of" according to Merriam-Webster. Given the context of the OP's post, I think the meaning was clear enough (although spelling it correctly definitely would help).

I think its obvious The dictionary wasn’t a thought based off a secondary spelling/definition due to the OP’s accidental spelling error if someone does not understand the term initially the first time. But again, its The Internet, _not_ everybody will interpret the same meaning regardless, Hence my inquiry.

Anyways, on topic- OP: Did you have iCloud activated? Also, the iPhone 8 long term depending when you upgrade again, would have longer support. However, the iPhone 7 will likely reduced in price again in approximately a month with the announcement of the new iPhones.

If you can wait 1 month or so for the new iPhone stop come out you will save a bit of money

Yup. I caught it at one point prior to posting so I don’t know what happened.
Relieved was the word I wanted.

Yeah, I did, but they must have turned it off right away because it showed right where it was stolen from. I was told it would find it’s way overseas.
They did connect it at some point because my erase command went through.
I got what I thought was a nice price on a 128 gig 7. After having a 6s + I am on the fence. Being small is nice but I miss some things regarding the size of the +. S

Yeah. I’ve already noticed the Plus battery lasts way longer between charges.
No real issue to me. Thanks

Since you purchased a 7 I am guessing aftermarket, the new ones come out in a month. You can re-evaluate then.

I got it from a carrier. I’ll keep this one. I’m not typically a new adopter so I’ll live with it and it’s size. An 8 would have been a bunch more than I paid so that’s why I chose the 7. It matters little to me what comes out in a month, but I will likely buy an SS Watch 4.

After having the 7 for a week I am thinking about returning it for a Plus.
The holdup is I have finally got everything set up perfectly, including a perfect install of a screen protector. (I had one on my + and it saved me once) I’ve installed 4 of them now and have it down pat. (2 on the plus, 1 on an ipod Touch and one on the new 7)
Last night I didn’t charge it and it hit the warning around 1:30 today. Happened only once in almost 3 years with the +. It appears I will have to charge the 7 every night. The + simply didn’t require that.
The regular 7 feels amost too small to me; the cover does help with that for sure though. The weight is almost unnoticeable in my pocket which is nice compared to the +. I also find the smaller size of the 7 does not really improve one hand use over the +. It’s almost like the more ‘heft’ of the + makes it easier to hold. One hand use of the 7 requires about the same ‘juggling’ as the + did. I almost never text or E-mail with two hands and I was used to the reach.
I think I just might go and see what my choices are.
Any people out there who have gone from a + to the regular that can weigh in on this? Most people I’ve talked to say I’ll get over what I’m thinking and say I’d regret it if I were to go back. Thanks. S

What carrier do you have? If it’s AT&T go buy an iPhone se for $80 the prepaid version then use it til September when the new 6.1 comes out then get it, for 1. it will be cheaper. 2. It’s gonna be the newest one. Then you can sell the se online for probably more then $80
