i just noticed that about half of the song names in my library have dissappeared.
i have over 100 cds on here too...i dont really want to have to import them again.
does anyone know of anyway that i can get all of the names back?

i just noticed that if i play any of the songs with the missing song name the name pops up.

whats up with this?

im running 4.0.7. yeah it was really weird. random song titles disappeared and i had to go through my whole library pressing enter on all of the ones that were missing which would bring the song titles back.
i hope that doesnt happen again because i have over 2000 songs on here.

yeah this has happned to me quite a bit. especially in panther, but jaguar too. chances are your songs arent gone, it just is stupid and forgot where they were. you ll have. go pick a couple of songs, and see if they are still there in the music folder. if they are just throw away every song in the itunes window. then go into your home folder and drag your itunes music folder into itunes, that will put all your songs back. unless you want to go one by one and do it.

If you like, you can also deleted the iTunes preferences in your home directory. iTunes will think you've never used it before and will ask you if you want it to search your computer for audio files. It will find them all for you.

true as well, but it wil get rid of his playlists, but deleting all the songs to begin with may get rid of them.
