Please read. 🙏

My Mac Mini M2 Pro has shown 2160p@120hz with YCBCR444 10b.
(checking with pressing green button 7 times on my LG OLED CX.)

Now I just found out that my LG OLED shows YCBCR420 8b.

But... when I enable HDR it's YCBCR444 10b, and strangely enough when disable HDR, SDR is still YCBCR444 10b.

Sadly, when I turn the OLED off an on again... it's YCBCR420 8b again...

Please help/advise!

PS: Any way to manually change these values in MacOS?? (RGB/YCBCR 420/444 etc)

PS 2: I think this was introduced by 14.4, but I'm not sure.

Update:

When I pulled all power cords, and powered up everything again, I had YCBCR444 10b with SDR.

Now, after a nights sleep, it's YCBCR420 8b again. (I didn't completely shut down the Mini for the night)

Quick summary after a bit more testing:

My setup: Mac Mini M2 Pro - LG OLED CX - HDMI 2.1 - 4k@120hz YCBCR444 10b SDR.

After Sonoma 14.4 I get YCBCR420 8b when waking up from sleep mode.

To get back 4:4:4 10b I have to either:

- Turn the Mini completely off and on again.

- Log out and log in again.

- Or the little weird one, turn HDR on and then off again.
