Hello,

Basically i dropped my ipod (nano 2nd gen) in the bath a few days ago, since then i have put it in a bowl of rice to dry it out and thought i would try my luck plugging it in to my pc.
At first the apple logo flashed on and off a few times then varied between that and the do not disconnect screen. The hold symbol is continuously flashing and the whole ipod seems unresponsive to any input from the click wheel or the hold button.
I thought i would try a restore but the error message

'the ipod could not be restored. an unknown error occurred(1401)'

does anyone know what exactly is wrong in the ipod, and if so even how to fix it????

please?:)

To use technical terminology:
It's dead. You killed it.

In all seriousness though, for what it will cost to fix you would be better off to save that money to put towards a new iPod, or look for a used one on ebay or Craigslist.
