I have powered speakers hooked up to the audio out of my powerbook that work just fine with built in sound + itunes and the like, however, I plugged in another CD player to the input jack and though it's showing sound on the bar in system preferences (sound>input>line in), I can't get it to output the sound to the speakers! Please help!

Thanks

Oh. Where is the play-through check box? I can't seem to find it (on Tiger)

Thanks again

I can't find it either. ???? Umm, what program are you trying to listen to your CD player through? If just through the Finder, then it looks like I'm stumped. If you're using a sound recording program, then you'll have to find that "playthrough" option in that program.

I'm simply trying to use the aux input on my PB to route the audio to the powered speakers, no programs involved. I'm stumped too.

I think in that manner, you should bypass the PB altogether. Can't you just 'line-out' from the CD player directly to the speakers? If the PB can't control the CD player, then why do you want to connect it through?
To get the PB sound at the same time I suppose. Hmm, I would just rip the CD to iTunes, and go on your way.
