I had my phone jailbroken on 3.0.1. I had to reset the phone - I'm selling it and wanted to wipe it clean. It got stuck in the restore cycle. When I connected it to iTunes it offers to Restore and Upgrade. It's going to force me to restore to 3.1. Is there any way around this? I sold the phone as jailbroken, since it's a 3GS I won't be able to do it on 3.1. Please help.

You can try to downgrade it using this:
http://www.saurik.com/id/12

Scroll to the "Your iPhone 3G has an ECID SHSH on file." part. If you had the devices ECID on file with Saurik you are in luck. If not, you need to break this to the buyer.
