the purpose of the website is for the user to post what they are looking for. It's the backward concept of the typical users posting what they are selling (eg. craigslist, amazon). Please give me some constructive advise. Thank you very much and I hope you all a wonderful day.

IMO...
The site is too median, by this I mean it isnt simplistic, but it isnt very busy. Busy can be nice if done right. You should chose either a Busy site or a Simplistic one. besides that, I like how the states are accesable by /StateName that is rather convient, but when you go to a states page you have WAY too many catagories open. You should only have the main ones and then let people decide which ones they want when they want them. I like the inclusion of RSS, but it should be embedded. the site also needs some different colors and a new logo.

The blue button post now is very distracting. Its so bright it distracts from your logo. The list of states could be a list of regions like Northeast. Then break it down to states. As for the listings I'm not sure why some have sub categories that are the same as the category itself. Its a nice start though.
 
Just for starters

There's too much "runnin' around" on that page... no ther way to say it. you are in no man's land between detailed and simple to use.

Also, in clude the District of Columbia (washington DC) is you are going to include states -even though it's not a state.
 
I'm confused by the domain name, "bue-zit" is it supposed to be like "buys it"? It is a little too simple, maybe work in a little more color, or more shades of blue instead of so much white or maybe a flashier top banner. I think your losing value ad space on the left with that long list of states, you could easily just have a drop down menu with all the states names and then utilize that space for other things. I'm still unsure what this site is for, I'm getting a Craigslist vibe from it though. Good work, hope this site works out for you.
 
1. Agree - Add District of Columbia.
2. Agree - Blue post now is too blue. Center it and you can make it smaller.
3. Recent topics: what is your main purpose here? It takes up most of the real estate on your main page.
4. Categories: what’s a rare item? Who determines this? What is the difference between rare and collectible?
5. Where do you select price range?
6. Sub categories in Categories should be collapsed until user clicks on it.
7. “Zit” in a title is not a great idea
8. There is no compelling reason to scroll down to whatever info is on bottom of page.
 
it's similar to a site i am updating (http://www.bluesmatters.com), stuck within the constraints of the software and a lot going on.

I am in the middle of a custom built system for Blues Matters, i am already 6 months through and not even coded anything yet. Using it as my final year degree project so taking a bit longer, but will be good for me to show my talents and good for Blues Matters because they get a new custom built site.

If you don't have the time or skill to make your own site, there are a lot of customisations you could do to make it look a bit better, have a browse around online and borrow some ideas.
 
I honestly think if you're really serious about making this website work then don't do it half way, put in 100%. Don't use phpbb, make or hire someone to make a custom website with custom scripts. Hire a graphic designer for the logo and website images. Yes, it'll cost more, but at least (IMO) then you'd have a chance of being successful.

Personally seeing this site and simply the fact that it uses phpbb, would put me off. It tells me that the owner doesn't have enough money to make a "real" website and so I won't use or take your website seriously.

Of course if you customized it and made the fact that you're using phpbb a benefit feature wise and design wise (as opposed to a cost-reduction plan) then that's a different story.

They gave me hell, and my DB's were always failing or offline

Media Temple [mt] is great however, I highly recommend them

Visually a very attractive design, clean and in keeping with the product.
It’s a nice website. You did it in my favorite color... I love it even more now. Very neat and clean. I also have a graphics website designed by web designers at www.webdesigningcompany.net .Anyway, Thank you! Keep up the great graphics work!
