So I need a below $40 leather strap from Amazon (or elsewhere) for my Aluminum S4 watch. It could be black or brown (I'd prefer black).

The only problem is that I'm reading the reviews on Amazon and many folks are complaining that the strap broke, and it broke/almost broke the watch case itself.

Can anyone please recommend a reliable real leather strap that'll last long for daily normal use? Should last for at least a year I guess? Thanks!

Thanks Sean, these are great quality sites (awesome products on sale!) you mentioned. I am looking at the cheaper Urvoi brand found in aliexpress.com.

Hi Sean, so you saying hte clockwork synergy strap last long? What about their metallic parts? Some feedback would be great. Thanks!

They do last long. The metallic parts are nice quality and you can select finishes to match various Apple Watch finishes. I have worn mine a lot since I bought it in late 2015 or early 2016. It’s still in good shape. I have one of the dapper series bands (the more casual line). I would definitely buy another from them. I might order a black leather band since mine is brown.

To contrast I also have a knockoff leather loop I bought off Amazon. It started peeling after about a year. At least it was only $20. I think the Clockwork Synergy bands are a good value and compare well to leather straps I’ve seen in the $80 range.

I would also consider location when it comes to ordering. Since I’m in the US I can ship something back to Clockwork Synergy if I decide I just don’t like it when I see it in person. The knockoff leather loop I ordered off Amazon shipped from Hong Kong. If I had wanted to send it back the shipping would have been as much as the cost of the strap itself. Fortunately I liked the look of it, but the leather was fake and it did not last as long as my Clockwork Synergy strap.

I just read your first post and it won't meet your criteria for $40 or under but I will tell you they are wonderful bands. They are tailored to fit your wrist based on how you wear a sport band. If you decide to order, please read up on the sizing--it's very important to ensure you get a good fit.

The band is not like a traditional band, it's cut leather or suede with the only stitching at the end to fold over and keep the lugs secure. That's what I like about it though, non traditional watch, non traditional band with a forward thinking design--the pin is in a different location that doesn't get in the way when you lay your wrist flat.

I had a problem with one of my bands stretching, contacted CS and had a replacement within a couple of days.

I hope the CS strap fits my wrist or I’d have to get them replaced?

Hi yes, so I received my Clockwork Synergy strap and it's barely able to loop under the buckle so it's small for my wrist. I'm going to contact customer support for replacement. Secondly the leather is slightly stiff perhaps it'll become flexible by use?

That’s a bummer that it’s too short. The leather does soften with wear, and if you got a brown band it will also darken over time.

Not sure if you will like the style, however I recently purchased the vintage crocodile print leather strap for my stainless space black, love it. Cheap and so far holding up pretty well. I bought the one in the below link, in black with black clasps
https://www.amazon.com/Vintage-Watchbands-Genuine-Replacement-Band-Black/dp/B07GB66MH1/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1546624368&sr=8-3&keywords=chimaera+watch+band+vintage&th=1

infant I loved the strap so much, I bought another one with their deployment clasp
