I'm trying to get a sense for what is normal expected battery drain for new Apple Silicon MacBook Pros when put to sleep. Mine drains 5-10% in sleep during a 24 hour period. Back in the day my old MacBook Pro would drain minimally in sleep if Power Nap was turned off but I understand the M-chips are more like iPhone or iPad chips which are "always on" - I see my email and messaging apps are typically always up to date and applications have been updated during sleep.

Please post a screenshot of your sleep battery usage along with your computer size and specs to standardize.

Mine is the following: 2021 MacBook Pro 14" M1 Max 32c GPU | 64 GB RAM | 2 TB storage. I do not have a lot of applications installed that run in the background or cloud sync services outside of iCloud. Mostly default apps, Microsoft Office, Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.

Download and open Coconut battery. It'll give you an estimate of how many Watts of power your Mac is using. From there you'll get a more accurate representation.
I have done this in the past. States 0 W right when I open the Mac from sleep which likely reflects power drain too small for it to actually register. When in active use, it typically hovers around 4-5W depending on screen brightness and apps in use but that's not really relevant for sleep battery drain. I have edited my original post and changed standby to sleep for clarity.

I'll update with more details later, but over a short period my battery dropped 6% over the span of 2.5 hours while in sleep mode (which is like 1% every 25 minutes, which seems like quite a lot). MacBook Pro 14", 8-core, 16 GB ram.

So this is one week going off the initial charge that i did when I purchased my new MBP 16 inch M1 Pro, 16GB, 1TB.
7 days left to run on battery, never shut it down fully during the night just lid closed/sleep mode.
Had 13% of battery left before i plugged it into the charger last night.

What do you guys think is it ok for a weeks worth of use/standby?
Im thinking its about 11 hours approx of on screen time during the entire week.

There are multiple different reasons that cause the Mac battery to drain fast issue. However, to fix the problem, you can try the below fixes:

1. Restart your Mac
2. Install the latest macOS updates
3. Check battery usage in System Preferences
4. Reset PRAM/NVRAM and SMC
5. Turn off Power Nap

Hope this will help you resolve the issue!
