any recommendations for a download manager (like for downloading files from premium sites, instead of doing them through safari/etc). I used to use Getter back in the day, but it has not yet bene updated for el Capitan, I also see JDownlaoder as an option.
There are some years older threads on this but nothing recent I could find

How about Folx GO? You can search download manager in Mac App Store.

For those who are searching for a download manager... Do yourself a favor and don't buy FOLX GO or other version of FOLX from the Apple store, the version download from the Apple store does not work!! That simple...

FOLX is an excellent download manager but only the PRO version :(
More expensive but it really works it can be download from its official web site @ -http://mac.eltima.com/download-manager.html

Thanks

Bringing this thread back to life....

I just tried Folx (free version) and I got errors when trying to download several videos from a premium site. Critical error, HTTP not authorized, or something like that. Is this a Folx problem or do I need to change a setting? I used it with Chrome.

Or, is there a better DL manager?
