Hullo,

I made a mobile me web site a few weeks ago. It can be found at-
http://web.me.com/doktordoris/Site/blog/blog.html

Then I bought a domain name from godaddy, so my site can be found at-
dorisnet.com

But, despite me being a signed up user of gmail and ad-sense, google searches won't find my site.
I have tried typing in dorisnet.com, but all that finds is the forum entries I have made with dorisnet.com mentioned in my sig (like this forum).

I have tried searching for the first bit of text on my site-

My blog, it will feature anything that I find interesting. My interests are many and varied, the focus of my attention flits from subject to subject like a tempest tossed butterfly. Please see Welcome above.

But that doesn't work.

COuld someone here please help? Either by finding my site on google and telling me I did something obviously wrong when I was looking for it. Or by telling me that I need to register somewhere. But when I first made my site I did fill in a form from google to register it.

I am out of ideas, thanks for taking the time to read this post.

No offence ,but this sounds like a spam post.

Besides when you write blog posts and have a good SEO and tags your blog will be found on google, I get hits everyday from search engines.

Do you have hosting at all through godaddy? It looks like just a redirect in which case you aren't going to get any hits on google from your domain name.

....

iWeb : Websites :: Duplos : Construction

PS Why the hell do you have a million ads on your website? Dont even consider ads until you are getting thousands of hits weekly, if not daily. All they do is piss people off and make them leave your site. This will effect your SEO by effecting your "staying power", which google looks at.

When specifically did you create the domain? It can take months before search engines index your site. I know Google will often put new sites in a timeout to ensure they are not just being used by spammers and hackers. If your site has a ton of ads (which another poster mentioned), then this could increase the time it takes to be indexed.

Right,

This question first.

The reason I have a "million" ads is because I am writing articles about interenet advertising and the money involved therein. If you had read any of my site you would have realised that.

This response next.

WHat the devil do you mean by spam post?

It is a legitimate questions.

Type dorisnet.com into google and see what is found.
Not my site.

Nor is my site found if you type in lumps of text from the first page.

You should read a bit on SEO. I don't know why your site doesn't appear *at all* in search results (if that's the case), but for starters if you want your site to rank high you're going to need to ditch MobileMe and iWeb.

I don't want my site to appear high in anything.
It is a thing I write for my own pleasure and to hone my writing skills.

I am just puzzled as to why it doesn't appear in google.

Ah, thanks for your help mate.

But as I mentioned before I only set the site up to help me perect my writing skills. I dont care about the number of visitors or anything like that.
I just wondered why google didn't find my site when dorisnet.com is typed in.

My site is just a thing to just amuse me.

SOmeone here had a go about my adverts.
Well amazingly enough after less than 500 his I have made over 25 pounds from ad-sense!

I have a ctr of nearly 20 percent.
The reason is that I asked all my friends and family to go to libraries and click on adverts.

Just to help me write articles on web advertising.

Oh yes.
all the money I make from advertising will go to cancer research.

The best way to get a better search rank with Google is to make content worth reading that people link to.

Are you really sure it doesn't appear at all?

I am fairly sure miles.

would you please be so kind as to try and get google to find it?

You should edit this right now. I think that that is fraud!

I am sorry?

WHy would you say that?

Are you saying I plan to run off with the loot? If that is what you are saying my advice is to think long and hard before accusing me if such a thing. If that is what you are saying I will be jolly unhappy.

Or do you think getting peole to click on adverts is fraud?

WHy? People are still seeing the adverts.

I'm saying that getting people to click ads for you is fraud.

I'm saying that getting people to click ads for you is fraud.

Okay chief.

Sorry I laid into you.

I thought you were saying that I meant to run of with the money.

But please, think about what you said.-

Getting people to click ads for you is fraud.

Isn't that what advertising is?

It's not like I clicked on an ad lots of times, each time a new viewer clicked on an ad.
That is what they want, isn't it?

Again, sorry for hurling invective at you.
Will you forgive me?

Not if you're telling people to click on the ad simply to get click hits.

Google said:
"Invalid clicks" are often confused with "clicking on your own ads". However, we'd like to stress that invalid clicks are generally any clicks that artificially inflate advertiser cost or publisher revenue, regardless of their source.

Click fraud is a subset of invalid clicks that are generated with malicious or fraudulent intent -- in other words, clicks that are intended to drive up advertiser cost or publisher revenue artificially. Sources for these clicks include, but are not limited to:

# A publisher clicking on his own ads, or encouraging clicks on his ads
# Users or family members clicking to support the site / publisher

# Third-party programs with user incentives, such as paid-to-click services and click-exchanges
# Automated clicking tools, robots, or other deceptive software

That is against the rules. Your site will be banned by the advertisers.

dorisnet.com full of ads. And to save people the trouble... Content vs. ads at dorisnet.com

Not cool. Not cool at all.

Also thought I'd point out that on the site:
"Please use the above text-box to search the web. It will help my advertising articles."
I think this is probably against the AdSense policies. See what happens when you reach 50 pounds I believe. It's generally at that point when you reach your first 50 that they ban any users who are going to get banned.

Good luck with the site anyway, and as someone said, the reason why your domain name doesn't appear in Google is because it's simply redirecting to your MobileMe account, and as has been said, it's time for your to ditch MobileMe, and possibly iWeb.
