Plex Client not seeing library

Hello,
I have a Mac Mini and a Macbook Pro, both running Lion, and both have Plex Media Server and Plex Client installed. The movie files are on a networked Buffalo RAID server. I set up the PMS on the Mac Mini with a Movies library pointing to the RAID server, and the PMS on the Macbook Pro was set up with no libraries. Both Macs mount the RAID server at start up. After I first set it up, the left hand column of the Client on the Macbook Pro listed the Movie library from the Mac Mini, just like it it should. The next day the Movie library did not show up on the Macbook Pro, but if I select search in the left hand column, I can find the movies in the Mac Mini's Movie library.

Today, as an experiment, I opened the Media Manager on the Macbook Pro and added a Movies library pointing to the RAID server. The Mac Mini now has two Movie Libraries in the left hand column, one from The Mac Mini and one from the Macbook Pro. The Macbook Pro only has the Movie library from the Macbook Pro. Any suggestions on how to make the Macbook Pro see the Movie library from the Mac Mini? I've tried everything I can think of and the Wiki page mentions nothing about how this works.

Thank you for responding. I have it on the Plex forum and it's been three days. I thought I would give this a try.

You only need the PMS server running on the device serving the media, so if your mini is your media server, that is where the PMS runs. Everything else is a client that connects to the server address on the mini. Your mini runs PMS, it connects to your raid drive array and it serves the media to your MBP, ATV, iPhone etc.

Or if you want, run PMS on both the MBP and mini and point each one at the raid where the media is. But this only makes sense if for some reason your mini is not always on when you want to watch media on your MBP.

Thanks for your help. I scoured the Wiki manual and I was unable to find anything on this. I gave the Mini a static IP address and set the Network Preferences on the MacBook to manual server IP with the Mini's address. It is just fine now.
