Plex or Boxee on iPad

Do you guys think it would be possible to have an app like Plex or Boxee that would be able to watch movies and TV programs (.AVI, .MKV, .MPG ….) from from a remote HDD. ???

That would be such a nice a app …. All tho I doubt its possible because of iTunes store sales would go down …

Sling Media and Air Video are two I know of that already have iPhone apps and are planning iPad apps. (Someone else mentioned 'Orb' I think).

Pretty sure Air Video will transcode other formats on the fly.
