Hi,

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum but couldn't find anything with the search.

Does anyone have any experience with Plex? I have a 2010 MacPro with Plex installed and can stream music and movies to my phone without any issues.

I can also stream music to my Samsung TV with access to all my iTunes playlists fine. The problem I have is I can see all my movies in a list on the TV but when i try to play them i get the error "unable to open stream". I've tried turning off my firewall and removing/re importing the movies to iTunes but still get the same error. Works fine on my Samsung phone but not the TV.

Any help would be much appreciated.

How are you accessing your movies. Have you installed plex client on samsung tv?

I have plex server installed on my mac and the pled app on my phone and TV (both Samsung).

I can play movies and music fine on my phone but the TV will only play music. It displays all the movies that are in iTunes but when i try to play it says either "cannot open stream" or "requested stream cannot be found".

Were the movies purchased on iTunes? Plex can play music from iTunes, but if the moves have DRM they will not play on Plex.

It works with most movies now. Had to create a new folder via the pled site. I don't even need to add the movies to iTunes now which is even better!

I run the Plex server in my 4,1 (Flashed 5,1) as well. I didn't install any Plex client on the TV. I simply use my LG TV's internal player to access it as any other network media server and play all the movies.
