it bugs me that there are petty things that Apple has decreed can only fit on the plus sized screen and not my already quite large 6 (having come from a 4s).

it isn't even a resolution issue, as all the additional things, like contact pictures in messages and additional panes in landscape mode, all work even when the plus is set to the scaled resolution of the 6. Generally all they're doing is ensuring that there is unused white space left on the 6, as some sort of punishment for not wanting the biggest device possible.

And ultimately none of the features are super important to me, so it'll never sway me anyway. All it does is reveal their mentality that ultimately product quality for Apple plays second fiddle to marketing strategy anymore.

My iPad Pro has been quite good. The keyboard is fast, the pen is enjoyable.

Apple is a company high on its own financial success. With massive funding for marketing, they create and control the company's image to perfection. Years of programming millions to believe Apple is "Magical and Revolutionary" they've positioned themselves ideally.

Obsessed with control over their users, it doesn’t get any better. They do what Apple wants, no more, no less. At the top, they look down on us, chuckling as they orchestrate the arrival of Brinks Trucks to pickup the cash.

Contact pictures in messages are available on the 6.

Oh man you're right. I was comparing single person conversations to a group text. Mea culpa. Although the list views on the left in landscape would still be nice.

I never understood why Apple has not implemented a 1080p screen on the regular 6s or image stability. Just another example of Apple cheaping out so they can get more profits.

You realize that would mean worse battery life, also the plus isnt as smooth as the regular 6/S so that would also mean more lag. The resolution on the 6/S is fine.

Then Apple needs to stick a bigger battery inside. There is no excuse for a premium smartphone to have a 720p display in 2015.

For the size that the 6/6s is that resolution is fine. I mean it can be better with higher PPI but the visual improvement it would bring for that size would be minimal for most that it might not outweigh the battery and/or performance hit. It's possible they will change that in the next redesign with iPhone 7 though as they can redesign more than just the screen but the actual design of the phone itself. We'll see.

They can literally throw any old underspecced device out there and it will sell, sell sell. Its baffling ;)
Fairplay to Apple tho, they've got the whole world in their hands.
We've all been hoodwinked

And then you have people complaining that the phone is too thick and heavy.

Apple's strength has always been in knowing which trade offs to prioritise. All the more in a mobile device where portability and battery life is prized.
