I'm calling the cops
My PowerMac G5 has locked up twice today only when I leave the computer. The fans turn on medium high. The only thing I am doing different is my 1st gen iPod has been plugged in all day. It seems to happen every 2 hours only when im not on the computer. What is causing this?

If it works normally with the iPod unplugged then it could be a few different things. A failing hard drive on the iPod (or any other component really) could have this effect, as could a bad Firewire port on the Mac. Even a bad iPod cable could be causing it. At a guess, it's most likely the iPod though, but maybe test the port with another peripheral to see how it goes too. :)
