Does anyone know how to automatically delete Podcasts from the iPhone that have been listened to? Is it a feature in iTunes?

Sorry if this is the wrong forum.

Not sure if this is exactly what you want, but...

You can choose which episodes to sync in iTunes preferences.

Have it sync only the episodes that you haven't listened to yet.

Its one of the settings under Podcasts tab on the left side of iTunes.
There are 2 settings

1. Delete podcasts that have been listened to
2. Delete podcasts that have been completely listened to

Help ! I'm sorry - but I cannot find the settings you refer to above. I'm trying to get iTunes to delete podcasts when I listen to them.

Sorry for being stupid - Thanks !

Thanks for post and picture.

This machine I'm using is a W*ndows (sucks...) with iTunes.

Windows version has a similar screen (pic link below) - but I swear the darn thing doesn't delete downloaded old podcasts....

I have noticed that if I click on the GET button to download a podcast it won't delete it automatically. I guess iTunes assumes that if I downloaded it, I must want to keep it forever.

Could that be why they don't delete for you?

I think you're right. I deleted and reset up some podcast subscriptions and the new subscriptions seem to be working better.

Thanks for your help !
