I have experienced problem with the podcast app for a long time now.
I subscribe to a large number of podcasts in iTunes so moving to another app is not a good solution for me.
I probably have about 20 episodes on the phone at any given time.
Since iOS 10.0 ??? don't remember now...I have the podcast app crash/stop/exit mostly while playing the first podcast of the day. with the latest iOS 10.3.2 the app fails even more.
For a long time I just synced a podcast playlist from iTunes to the app; after 10.3 I decided to sync subscriptions and play the downloaded podcasts direct from the app.
This seems worse than before. I get a crash/stop a few times a day.
I sync playback positions.
I sync subscriptions.
I get a crash in the morning, sometime when in the app but not playing.
I get a crash shortly I am out of WiFi range and the phone is on LTE
I get a crash in the afternoon, but the phone is on LTE.
Critical point...This seems cloud related...If I use airplane mode I have no crash...ever.
Is there a way to troubleshoot this with out calling Apple and having them walk me through "reboot", "restore" and "let us know" I have performed a reboot several times, did a restore when I had my battery replaced by Apple, and also deleted all the podcasts content, deleted app, and rebooted, then loaded the app and content again.
Strangely I cant seem to replicate this on my iPhone 6 running the Beta iOS...
Frustration is high and with iOS 11 coming out I have no faith that Apple will make the app better.
