I have over 150 podcast episodes yet to listen to - I do think i'll work my way through these over the next few months but I still get new downloads on a daily basis.

While I listen to some of my podcasts on my Mac using iTunes on OSX I probably listen to the majority of podcasts when I am out and about on public transport or walking.

Ever since ios9 Apple's podcast app has become so slow and unresponsive. I don't understand how Apple's native podcast app can go from being brilliant to near unusable just because of a new version of iOS.

I know there are other podcast apps out there and I've used Overcast briefly but is there a way I can sync the episodes on my Mac to a podcast app. Overcast seems willing to download new episodes but I don't see how it can have access to my podcasts on my Mac.

Any suggestions or help?

Did anyone else find Apple's native podcast app became unresponsive after the release of iOS 9? Apple really should spend more time on improving their own apps. It's embarrassing they appear to care so little.

PocketCasts is an app for iOS that also has a web interface for desktop use (both paid for separately). They sync your podcast libraries / episodes between devices and platforms, as well as listening progress. Perhaps that's a solution for you?

Overcast does have a web player as well, over at overcast.fm (you have to have an account and log in)
