Podcast app has repeatedly deleted the downloads I've done of podcast episodes, before I've finished listening to them...and even before I start listening to them.
Defeats the purpose of downloading them on wifi then listening on my commute, I'm trying to conserve my cellular data monthly allowance.

Anybody else seeing this? I've reported in feedback app
12.0 (16A5318d)

Same thing happened to me, I think it's just a bug with iOS 12. Quite annoying when I stay in hotels frequently and I usually listen to podcasts to fall asleep or in the car on the way there.

Well, good (I guess) to hear another report of it--in that now I know it's not just something weird about my phone. I haven't seen anybody else mention this yet on this forum or on any pages where I've looked with web searches.

PB3 seems to have fixed it, I downloaded podcasts last night and they're still on the phone tonight.

Oops, spoke too soon, but I found a possible contributing factor. After I synced/backed up my phone to iTunes 12.8 running on macOS 10.13.6, the downloaded podcasts got un-downloaded. Podcasts are set NOT to sync in my iTunes settings for this phone.

I downloaded two of 3 podcasts again. Then reconnected to iTunes and synced again...and one of the two downloaded podcasts got un-downloaded again, but the other remained.

Syncing when the phone had iOS 11 did not remove downloaded podcasts.

Today I had two podcasts downloaded, they lasted the day. This evening I synchronized/backed up via lightning cable with iTunes, and later when I checked podcasts, the downloads had been removed (podcasts still listed).

I downloaded again, then connected to iTunes again, synced/backed up again, and the podcasts disappeared again.
Reported in feedback.

Fixed in public beta4 (16A5339e), according to feedback reply, and my testing shows that downloaded podcasts do indeed survive a sync over lightning cable with iTunes
