Is anybody else having issues with iTunes 'timing out' the download of Podcasts this afternoon? 1 worked this morning, but now both the Sub Pop and This Week in Tech Podcasts just stop downloading and say the network timed out.

BTW its not my internet connection, Comcast high speed...and every else with it works perfectly.

I think it has to do with the fact that the Podcasts are not coming directly from Apple. They are only as good as the server hosting them. I haven't been able to download TWiT yet either.

These podcasts are supposed to be cached, and something has gone wrong.

From Adam Curry's blog:
Well, the big day is finally here, iTunes 4.9 is released! Ofcourse Murphy snuck in overnight, looks like the akamaization of the podcasts isn't working as planned, the whole world started showing up at our door this morning...
The engineers are working on it as we speak

Yeah I've been having heaps of trouble trying to get about three of these puppies...I assume Apple is hard at work on the fix.

Definitely feel like a beta tester today

This could be realted to load, people hitting the sites hard at given times. We do need to remember that the service is only hours old at this time.

TWiT is really in a league of its own in terms of popularity. You've got next to no chance of getting it via the official feed soon after the episodes are released. You'd be better off downloading it manually from one of the mirror sites: www.danstechreviews.com/twit/

...at least until Apple get the cacheing sorted. Is that right btw, Apple are going to host third party podcasts?

Is anyone else having problems connecting to the Al Franken podcast via iTunes?
