Hi all,

So how's all the iOS 5 installs gone for everyone? My 3GS was touch-and-go for a while at the start with all the "3200" errors, but okay after persevering! Only annoyance was that when it re-synced the apps from backup, it spat them all over the springboard and I had to rearrange everything back into folders... Took about two hours!

But now that's all done, iOS 5 works like a dream... So much smoother than it was before the update. I feel like I have my old phone back again, yay! However, I do have a couple of questions about ios 5 about podcasts, wonder if anyone could help?

Under iOS 4, all podcasts and iTunes U - whether they be audio or video - were stored in the iPod app. Now, for some reason, only audio podcasts are stored there and the video ones are stored in the Videos app. That would make sense if the iTunes U files were treated the same way, but they're not... I can access both audio and video from within the Music app.

For me, there are numerous problems with separating the video and audio podcasts. Firstly, some podcasts have a mix of audio and video episodes, so now they won't show up properly in one place. Secondly, I no longer have an obvious place to find all of my podcasts, as some episodes will be hiding in the Videos app. And thirdly, most annoyingly for me, the video podcasts in the Videos app aren't treated as podcasts, so it's not possible to flip my phone into portrait mode to see the info text, nor can I press the vey useful "rewind 30 secs" button when I miss a bit. Do you think this is he way things are going to be from now on?

I have another question about podcasts... Now iOS 5 can do everything over-the-air, how will it deal with podcasts syncing? I usually have many unplayed episodes stored on my computer, especially since some podcast services delete episodes after a week, and then sync the 10 "least recently unplayed" episodes to my iPhone every morning. How will I do this under the new "regime"? Should I sync everything through the cloud except podcasts, and sync them tethered/wirelessly with iTunes manually?

Thanks in advance for your advice... So far I'm really enjoying iOS 5. I just need to iron out the few podcast niggles! :)
