Hi Folks,

just wondering if anyone could test this out on the current iOS17 build - when playing a (downloaded) podcast, do the skip buttons (15 seconds back, 30 forward) consistently work, if you tap them in repeated succession.

If you hit the back skip 3 times rapidly, do you jump back 45 seconds? I’m seeing a lot (~50%) of the button state shows an interaction is read (grows in size), but the playhead doesn’t jump.

The cynic in me suspects the button might be rate limited to stop people bouncing past ads.

for anyone who sees this, the problem appears to be the touch area for the skip buttons is smaller than the flat of a fingertip / thumb, and the touch is overflowing to the volume and timeline below and above respectively, thus cancelling the touch event on the skip button.

my guess is this is a bug, if only because one of the innovations for iOS was predictively centring touch events within the totality of a touch area.
