How does someone remove a Podcast episode from up next without listening to it? I subscribe to a couple daily podcasts and I have no interest in listening to all of them. Is marking it as played the only way to remove it now?
Where are you seeing a swipe left to remove? On my phone swiping left across an episode downloads it.Looks like swipe left is the only way to remove it.
On a side note, this update to the app is atrocious. There's literally no way of knowing how many episodes of a podcast you have to listen to without digging down into the library of each individual show. It seems like every update they make to the app makes it progressively worst.
I see. Ya that’s the same as “mark as played”. Really disappointed that there isn’t a way to remove something from your up next without marking it as played.Sorry meant swipe right.
Seriously... this happens every time, but this update seems to be worse than most. I now have 128 unplayed episodes of Freakonomics. My overall unplayed count quintupled.I’m really annoyed that basically all my “played” shows are now showing up as unplayed.
Meaning they are all in the feed show the show.
I turned on “hide played” (this should be on by default. But barely any disappeared and I figured out that barely any episode of the shows I listen are marked as “played” meaning I have to individually mark each one as played in order to clear the feed. Grr.
For example, I have been subscribed to Stuff you missed in History class for 8 years and listened to EVERY episode released. But now, it shows 1635 of 1638 unplayed.
Anyone know how to mark an entire channel as “played”?
Any recommendations for an alternative?Well, I'm out on Apple's Podcast app. I've stuck around this long, but this latest update has made sticking with it too onerous. It is time to give the other apps a go.
I use Overcast for podcast playing and love it. I've never liked Apple's podcast app, so have been using Overcast for a few years now. It's been getting better with each release - I use it on my iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Sadly there's no Mac app for it (though if you have an M1 Mac you can use the iOS version).Any recommendations for an alternative?
There is a web player for overcast also you can use on the Mac.I use Overcast for podcast playing and love it. I've never liked Apple's podcast app, so have been using Overcast for a few years now.
