Um, what do you mean by "normally"? If you mean not having to tap on "get more podcasts" in your iPhone's iPod section to see updates, then the answer is no, none that I'm aware of.

If you subscribe to the podcasts on your computer (via iTunes), and set it to auto-update, then iTunes will auto-download the new podcasts they are available.

well I didn't want to subscribe because I don't want it downloading episodes even when I can catch them on t.v. Let me explain my dilemma a little better so maybe the question can be answered better.
I don't usually get off work until about 5:30 or 6:00. The show (which has a podcast) comes on at 5:00 pm and 10:00 pm. I wanted to know if there is a way to see what time I would be able to get on Itunes and download the newest episode. I am not off work for the 5:00 show and I'm usually in bed or busy by the 10:00 show.
So I want to know when the new show's podcast is put on Itunes.
Sorry for the long explanation. Any more help is much appreciated.

Outside of telling us the Podcast and having someone know the timing. You should just get one episode behind then watch it when you get off work.

it is Cramer's Mad Money (dealing with stocks and the stock market) so it is somewhat time sensitive information. I have thought about that. I guess that beats not watching it at all.

The podcast I listen to always downloads at roughly the same time every day. I have it set to automatically download, but you can change that setting to manual in "Preferences". Other than that, there is no way for Apple to list when a podcast will be available as Apple just merely hosts it. It's up to the producer to upload it.

Good call. I guess I could let it download a few times automatically and see what time it does it.
