The good people at Poetic have sent me their Quarterback series case for the iPad Pro 9.7 in exchange for my honest and unbiased review here. Poetic is getting better and better with their products, and the Quarterback is no exception. A well-built case, the Quarterback comes in several colors, but I opted for the black on black color because...well...black goes well with everything. I think I like this one a lot more than Poetic's Clarity case, and for good reason: It feels somewhat premium, yet very solid in the hand. And the rugged look of the case adds some extra grip, which is nice. I'm really looking forward to putting this on my iPad Pro 9.7 when I get it in a couple of months.
Here are my pros and cons about the Quarterback:
Pros:
1. The polycarbonate material on the outside of the case is made of is very sturdy
2. The TPU material on the inside of the case looks and feels like it'll protect the device from drops, etc.
3. Like the Clarity case, the left side of the Quarterback case can be connected to either a Smart Cover or a Smart Keyboard, to offer maximum protection for the iPad.
4. The Apple Pencil holder on the right side of the case looks like it'll securely hold the pencil in place.
5. The Poetic thank you card on the inside of the package is always a nice touch, especially since they a reputation for standing behind their products 100% as well as having excellent customer service. Plus there's a 3 year warranty on all their products, so if that's not piece of mind right there, then I don't know what is.
Cons: None that I can think of.
In conclusion, Poetic has another hit on their hands in the form of the Quarterback series for the iPad Pro 9.7. It looks even better in person than in the pictures. It is a very solid case that will definitely stand out in terms of style and protection thanks to its build quality. And as with most other cases of the sort, the Quarterback also maintains a slim profile to the iPad without adding too much bulk. Now if only Poetic can do a Quarterback case for the iPhone 6s/6s Plus, then I'll be really happy. And now I'm also really looking forward to Poetic's Revolution case for the iPad Pro 9.7.
