The iPad Mini could easily be considered the most case worthy iPad Apple has ever made. Since its so portable with its smaller size you are going to be wanting to take it with you everywhere you go. That being said a case for this tech perfection is all but mandatory if you plan on keeping it safe from the elements.

While the iPad Mini is still new especially in the case world there are several different options available from Poetic right now. One of their most popular and "Slim" cases is the SlimLine hence the name. The overall design is a tried and true front smart cover with a polycarbonate back attached at the hinge.

The inside of the back polycarbonate piece is also lined in a soft suede material that is key to ensuring your iPad stays safe even after a bump and never gets damaged by the actual case itself which is all to common with other cases. That same suede material makes it way to the inside of the front cover as well so your well taken care of both on the front and back of this case.

The outside of the SlimLine is wrapped in a nice faux leather material that feels very nice to the touch and you can tell will hold up well to and beating you throw its way. It also gives the iPad a good grip in your hand thanks to the leathers nice texture.

The SlimLine case could not fit any better no matter where you look on the iPad Mini. Each corner snaps in place perfectly and there are no gaps or areas on the case where you would regret purchasing the SlimLine.

Looking at the bottom of the SlimLine you can see you have one nice large cutout for the Lightning Dock and speaker grille. You wont have to worry about a small cutout around the dock connector which sometimes is the case with other options out there.

Moving to the volume/mute switch things are perfectly aligned as well. There is just enough room for all three buttons and accessing all of them are a breeze in the park. The back case is also not too deep where you have trouble getting your finger in there and pressing the buttons so thumbs up for that as well. Up top you have three individual cutouts for your lock button, mic and headphone jack. Everything follows suit here as well with no issues of any sort.

Lastly you have a generous cutout for the camera on the iPad Mini which doesn't interfere with taking shots on the iPad at all. I would like to maybe see the camera cutout be a tad bit smaller just to ensure there are no marks that could arise on the back part of the iPad around the camera itself.

The front Smart Cover esque feature works flawlessly and holds extremely well even when held upside down. They definitely included enough magnets around the edge of the case to ensure you will have a great holding front cover on the case.

You also have your normal stand view options with the front cover by rolling it up and under the iPad. Once broken in the front cover folds well and gives you both a nice typing angle and also a perfect angle for watching movies and whatnot.

Using the case for the last few days I have to say its really hard to pick apart any area of the SlimLine especially considering the price you can get one of these at. There are many other cases out there that offer much less but still cost more than the SlimLine and thats really hard to come by in todays market. Usually when you see something affordable or cheaper than the competition you have to second guess yourself because of fear the product suffers in return. Not the case with the SlimLine though and i can highly recommend it to any iPad Mini user looking for a case that gives you just enough front and back protection while still being remarkably thin and useable on a day to day basis.
