Poetic Watch Stand Issues

I just got this thing and was impressed with the design and weight.
That was, until I charged it over night in the stand.
Unlike the Spigen stand the round disc doesn't seem to seat firmly in the stand.
I thought there was a connection as I got the charging emblem when I first placed it in the stand.
The stand is located on the dresser and was not moved or jostled while being charged.
The next morning I got up to find the battery drained. I had to take the disc out of the Poetic stand to charge the watch properly.

Has anyone else, with a Poetic Stand, had problems such as this?
I will experiment with the placement of the disc in the hole in the stand but I don't think I should have to do this with any stand made for the Apple Watch. I didn't go through these shenanigans with the Spigen Stand.

Do you have a link band? I have read others complaining about this with the link band. The issue seemed to be that the surface was too large on the TPU and a slight bump made the watch tilt just off of the puck.

I have seen similar complaints about charging stands that allow you to hang the watch in landscape orientation (which is ideal for the upcoming nightstand mode feature in Watch OS2). Does it appear that your watch is sliding down or tilting so it is no longer centered and flat on the charging puck?

This style does seem to be more problematic with heavy bands like the link bands. Spigen makes a landscape orientation stand with a lip that the watch sits on. I ordered a charging bowl that isn't as attractive as the options like this one, but it is cheap and looks like it will keep me from knocking the watch and stand off the nightstand.

This Poetic stand looks great except for the lack of some kind of lip to keep the watch from sliding or falling off. Perhaps some kind of support for the band would be necessary as well. If you are crafty you might be able to add something to support the watch, but it might be difficult to craft something that looks good with the stand.

I also received the poetic stand on Saturday, and same problem. I have the SS BSB, and it will just not stay seated properly. When you do get seated right to charge, a slight bump will move it enough to not charge. Disappointing considering how long we had to wait for this to be released. The griffin's stand mounting for the watch is much more secure.

The Griffin still lacks any kind of lip to support the watch though, so it makes me think that even with that one the watch is going to slip and possibly fall off if the stand is bumped. The magnetic connection between my watch and charging puck is quite weak. I don't think I would trust any stand to support the watch magnetically with no lip, unless it was on a very gentle slope. Somebody needs to design unit that has a support lip you can slide up and down (to account for different size watches, watches with cases on them, etc.)

No, I have the sports band, but what you said about the fit sounds about right.

Good point! I have a sports band and not the link but, the slip shod, way it fits; it might be slipping.

I agree.
Glad I paid less than $10 for it otherwise I'd return it.

Update:
Problem solved so I consider the price a bargain. I got it for $9.95 then Poetic gave me another discount ($1.99) because of the shipping problems I encountered. So, the total was $7.96. No more complaints, from me, on the Poetic stand.

Well I think I solved my weak magnet problem

When I bought my AW Sport two weeks ago I thought I had removed ALL the plastic from everything, but last night I noticed that there was still an almost completely invisible plastic disc still covering the business side of the charging puck. I peeled it away and now the magnetic attraction between the puck and my watch is stronger. The plastic did not affect charging at all, but it did affect the magnetism slightly. This gives me more confidence that a sloping stand will be reasonably stable, but what still concerns me about the poetic are the reports that the puck is not held securely. I do like the looks of the stand itself.

I'm glad that your solution was simple. I agree that the look of the stand is very nice and I like that it's heavier than my Spigen stand and love that it holds my iPhone as well.

I solved my problem too. I realized that the watch must go on the stand landscape orientation and with the strap fastened/closed. It now charges in my stand. I can stick this watch on my Spigen stand any, just about, old way and it will charge.

I bought a different Poetic product off of eBay and then gave it a less than glowing review on Amazon.
Poetic responded to my review and asked me to contact them.
I expected that that was a form-letter response to all negative reviews but they actually did try to work with me and make things right.
My point here is that Poetic seems to care about their customers.
If you're unhappy with their products give them some honest feedback and see if there's anything they can do for you.
There might not be but it can't hurt to try.
