Right, i just came of the phone to a HE sales person. Im looking to get a 2.4ghz, 15" Matte, 2gb RAM, 160gb 7200rpm drive for when i start Uni on 24th September. He told me that the computer would ship after or around the 3rd October.

Leopard is dawning on us, hopfully at the end of October. This would mean that only 3 weeks after receiving the MBP, a new operating system would be out! It seems totally pointless for everyone to order a MBP right now if they are in the same circumstances as me... unless they REALLY need one of course!

I am worried though, that after Leopard is released, i will see some rumors pop up on the main page to do with the MBP being updated (SR revisions, faster RAM, High Deffinition Drive, Possible GFX updates?). I know that once i see that il hold out again to buy it! (God, dont u love yet hate MacRumors!?).

Also, out of curiosity, does anyone know how well that the machine i plan to buy would run say, Crysis when it comes out (using bootcamp into XP)?

Many Thanks All

Ross

Right now you can get a free iPod with the pruchase of your MBP which I think is worth it. There are so many of these threads asking about buying and waiting... bottom line is if you need it now, buy it, if you don't, wait. In the case of a college student, I'd get it now for the free iPod. Even if you don't need the iPod you can see it for some extra money off the MBP.

Technology is always being upgraded, there will ALWAYS be something new in development, and always the possibility of something completely revolutionary being created in the near future.

No, the OP can't currently get a free iPod - he lives in the UK, and the Back to School offer hasn't started here yet.
