Recently, last Tuesday I believe, PG started auto-dimming after a period of inactivity like regular apps do to save battery life. Often, I will leave the PG app open to wait for Pokemon to show up.

Maps and videos do not dim (they shouldn't) but normal apps (like IG or FB) do. I've checked every setting I can think of, reinstalled PG app, and am finishing up a restore this morning and still nothing. Battery save inside PG is off.

On my iPad, PG does not dim which is why I put this thread in iOS 11 instead of apps. Also, I logged into my wife's PG account on my phone and it still dims. No one else in our household is experiencing this behavior.

I'm not 100% it was last Tuesday but I don't think it matters. I was playing PG on Monday night doing raid battles and no issue. The next day, this behavior started.

Is there a system setting I'm missing or something?

This is a bug in the lasteat PG app. Check out Silph Road Reddit. Has nothing to do with iOS.

OK, thanks, I'll check it out. Frustrating that it only happens on my device. Everybody in our household has the same version of the app.

And no ones phone is set to auto lock off? I’m part of a discord server with a 1000 local players and literally every player has mentioned this bug.

I can't check anyone else's phone right now, not sure. All I know is my phone has always been set to auto lock after 30 seconds but that never affected PG. It always stayed on, just like map apps and videos.

Correct. And the most recent update to Pokémon Go using the new unity standard has a bug which prevents the app from dimming. Only niantic can fix it. (They have acknowledged the issue).
